Reintegrating into society after any period of incarceration is daunting. The uncertainly of one’s livelihood, their ability to secure employment, housing or transport, dramatically affects the success of reintegration. Not to mention the personal and societal stigma associated with incarceration. Without a support network, this mountain of reintegration hurdles can often thrust returning individuals back into the life they know, returning them to the path of incarceration. Reboot Australia uses throughcare and supported employment to help candidates buck the trend of reconviction to see the life free of crime they deserve. While employment isn’t the only pillar of reintegration, it is key to building self-esteem, trust of themselves and others, a sense of belonging, social value and security from financial income.
Over the last 4 years Anthony and the Reboot Australia team have helped 155 people into supported employment from incarceration (103 in the past 18 months), educated more 3000 incarcerated inmates on industry employment needs, how to get work post-release and how to leverage all available support services/funding. Anthony and Reboot work hand in hand with the Department of Justice to create clear pathways from incarceration into supported employment.

Anthony is a 49 year old, father of four residing in WA’s south west region. His life has provided a diverse range of experiences, from working in retail and commercial fishing to construction and mining, and now recruitment. This experience is coupled with his personal journeys through addiction, drug dealing and bankruptcy. Anthony has now found a path to use this experience to help those who’ve found themselves in similar situations.
Inspired by breaking down the industry stigma of employing someone who has been incarcerated, and the personal stigma of gaining employment post-release, Anthony has founded Reboot Australia, a social enterprise designed to help individuals reintegrate through supported employment outcomes.
Over the last four years Anthony and his team have helped 155+ formerly incarcerated people into supported employment (95 in the past 18 months), educated more than 4000 inmates on industry employment needs, how to get work post-release and how to leverage all available support services and funding, and work hand in hand with the Department of Justice to create clear pathways from incarceration into employment.
